On my trip to Portugal I was privilaged to visit Sintra and see the extraordinary Castle of the Moors, an ancient ruin that marches along the crest of a forested mountain. This is the latest painting inspired by my afternoon there.
I love the way the sunset illuminates the weathered stone and the play of light and shadows on the walls
It is framed with an antique bronze-coloured wood moulding.
