When I traveled through the Okavango Delta of Botswana, I was lucky enough to see Little Bee-eaters. These little bright green, black and yellow birds would roost at night along arched papyrus stalks, clustered together for warmth and safety. I sculpted this pair to evoke that adorable grouping with their heads and bills upturned and their feathers fluffed out for warmth.
Please note* I have yet to do some final touches on this piece. The tails and faces will be a little more resolved when I am finished.
Patina for the Bee-eaters will likely be green, but with pre-casting special orders there is customization available for early collectors.
Regular cast price for this piece will be about $950 - $1,200CAD
This sculpture will be hand cast bronze using the lost wax method. All of my sculptures come with a Certificate of Authenticity in a custom folio.
**If you are purchasing as a gift and the sculpture cannot be ready in time, a custom gift package which includes the folio and certificate as well as a set of images of your ordered sculpture can be given in advance of the sculpture's arrival.
